Well, it's been since October, and I have let my blog sit idle. FaceBook and DisBoards take up all my computer time and I have nothing left to write once I'm done there.
This morning, however, I found myself needing to write. This is our 4th Sunday that we haven't gone to church. Church is still a huge issue for us. Our views on organized church haven't changed since we left Phoenix, yet we feel more guilty here by not going. I think it's because so many people we meet want to know what church we attend or want to be able to recommend their church to us. We feel like we have met plenty of fellow believers already within the homeschool community we are involved with on a weekly basis.
I found myself re-reading this article today: http://www.lifestream.org/bodylife.php?blid=32
It helped to reaffirm what our purpose is in not attending church, so I don't feel like we're just being lazy or indifferent. It's a conscious decision based on our feelings about the current state of organized churches. Even small-town ones.
So once again, I can say we are post-congregational, organic, free-range Christians. It's intentional, and it's ok. Jesus told me so. :)
