I've Moved!!

Well, not literally, but I've moved through blogspace. I decided I wanted to make my own blog (not just one I stole from Mom) Plus, Family Ruminatings always makes me think of cow, sheep and llama stomachs. Reading Rocks!!

Ballou Senior High School in Washington DC is home to over 1,200 students. Earlier this year the school library only had 1,150 books, which gives each student less than one book. According to The American Library Association there be 11 books per student in a school's library. So, GuysLitWire's annual book fair will benefit Ballou. Check this out here, and then follow their instructions.



Also, KidEquip partnered with The Giving Effect so people could donate 10 of their own gently-used books and get free shipping to mail books to at-risk and low-income kids in the Detroit Metro area. Look around, you probably have some old books lying around for children from ages 12 to birth. FInd out all about it here.

Bieber Fever!

My friends and I went to see the Justin Bieber movie on Tuesday. I don't really like Justin Bieber, but I don't hate his guts either, so I went along for the ride. It was fun, we went to the mall, shopped around, crammed six girls into a photo booth, and went to see the movie. However, after the movie, I had a fever. No, not Bieber Fever, I'm still not a Belieber yet, what ever that is ( Belieber n. Fan of Justin Bieber) Anyway, I had a fever, like the sick kind, 103.2. I've been sick with the flu for three days now, and I'm feeling slightly better. In spite of all that, the movie was better than I expected.

Origami Waterballs

I have recently discovered how to make this little boxes, and I can't stop. :) They're so fun and easy! There's a great tutorial by KittyBabyLove here. Once you make them you can hang them up like they did or I used them to cover the lights in my room.
